This Sunday I wanted to see for myself if the hype of the prosperity gospel that Joel Osteen preaches was real. While he wasn't personally preaching, the messaging fit the expectation set and I can firmly conclude that what Lakewood Church offers is NOT the Gospel, but rather a false gospel. It sounds right and uses a lot of the same language but it is guilty of the sin of omission. It offers a glimpse of the gospel, but not the entirety which ultimately makes it a false Gospel.
