Once in the apartment, the men took turns beating Daigle on the head with a hammer, then strangled him with a vacuum cleaner cord. Then it was time to dispose of the body. Daigle was wrapped in curtains and placed inside a sofa, then dumped in a weedy area off a highway. The little girl was also forced to carry firewood. By 6:30 that night, Savannah was on the ground, vomiting and seizing. More than 300 decomposing bodies were found discarded on the grounds of the Tri-State Crematory.
