HOW TO MARKET YOUR SMALL BUSINESS?

Hi there, My name is Bala Satheesh. I am a Content Marketing Analyst with the International Institute of Digital Marketing. Today I am going to speak about five digital marketing tips that I believe will be absolute gold when it comes to running a small business. Running a small business can be hard. As a small business owner you might find your voice being drowned out by large corporate and established competitors. You might not be too sure where to start when it comes to digital marketing. But these tips will help you get started and move in the right direction. Number 1: You should do Competitor research and try to set yourself apart. The best way to stay ahead of the curve will be to get to know your competitor. The most obvious and easiest way to start will be a simple google search. You can have a look at how your competitor positions itself in the market and what they offer as their “selling points”. You should also look for ways to set yourself apart from the said competition. It might be through the service, or through better customer service, etc. Number 2: Create eye-catching content for social Media The best way to catch the attention of a potential client will be through the content that you post on your social media channels. The design should be impactful and informative to the customer in such a way that they take action. You might be thinking to yourself, I don't have the means to hire a marketing team to help you with this. Well, you don't have to. There are free sites like Canva that really simplify the design process for you. It makes it quite easy for even a newcomer to design to churn out design in a consistent and professional manner. Number 3: I can't stress this enough, but, Market yourself on Social Media. Over 93% of the world’s population is on Social Media. It is almost a no-brainer at this stage. You have to be posting and interacting with customers regularly on Social Media getting the word out about your business. Slowly, but surely the results will come And number 4: Email Marketing Once you have built a small customer base you can look into Email Marketing. This is a fantastic way to get repeat business from customers who have already shown an interest in the kind of services you offer. And last but not least Number 5: Solidifying your knowledge What I have given you so far are some pointers as to where to start when it comes to your digital marketing strategy. One of the best ways to get yourself on the right track would be through study. Websites like youtube where you found my little free video will also host 1000s of hours of free content that can help you improve your design skills or understanding SEO and so on. Or you can sign up for a free digital marketing course with Google or Hubspot. One of the courses that have really really helped me was the Digital Marketing Master course provided by the International Institute of Digital Marketing.
