The philosopher Heraclitus says you can never step into the same river twice. It seems recently that one doesn’t face the same Clayton Kershaw or Max Scherzer twice, either. Both pitchers have made adjustments just this year, even as they continue to dominate opposing batters. Do even the very best of players need to change in order to stay the same?
