IN CONVERSATION: Courtney Act

Hiya friends! Strap yourselves in, ‘cause this one’s a goodie. (Are we allowed to say that about our own podcast episode? Screw it. IT’S AMAZING.) Today we’re joined by the ridiculously entertaining Courtney Act: a drag queen, entertainer and singer who has graced television screens across not just in Australia, but around the world. In this episode, we talk about it all: from Courtney’s schooling experience in Brisbane as Shane Jenek, to how Courtney Act came to life. We also cover why drag is such an important part of her identity, as well as her time on Australian Idol, Big Brother UK and Ru Paul’s Drag Race. IN CONVERSATION: Natalie Fornasier

IN CONVERSATION: Natalie Fornasier

Today, we are joined by a person who has influenced Zara and I more than any “Instagram influencer” or “YouTube vlogger” ever has. Her name is Natalie Fornasier, and she has 839 Instagram followers. Your eyebrows might be raised right now, and you might be wondering how a normal Sydney girl with a normal social media following could be so influential. Well, last year, Natalie sat down with Byrdie.com.au for a story titled “I’m 24 and Living With Advanced Melanoma—This Is My Story”. Natalie’s words and insights in that interview were what informed our very last segment of Shameless in 2018, and what pushed Zara to change her own relationship with sun tanning forever. Today, we sit down with Natalie, who is now 25, but still grappling with her stage four cancer diagnosis. We talk about friends, finding love, and what you can do to spread the word. We have chosen to forgo an episode sponsor today, and have dedicated the episode to Call Time On Melanoma. To support Call Time On Melanoma, visit www.calltimeonmelanoma.com.au, or follow them on Instagram @calltimeonmelanoma. This episode was produced by Michelle Andrews.

It's Monday! And it's a public holiday too! Happy Easter lovely people. On today's show: the Queen of PR might be getting her own reality TV show. IN CONVERSATION: Rowi Singh

IN CONVERSATION: Rowi Singh

Happy In Conversation Thursday lovely people! On today's show, we are joined with Rowi Singh. It’s hard to condense what and who Rowi is in a quick soundbite, but we will give it a shot. Rowi is an influencer, yes, but she’s not your average influencer. She might have more than a hundred thousand followers on Instagram, but she’s not about detox teas and teeth whitener. Instead, Rowi’s brand is her creativity. She’s a wildly talented makeup artist, who bluntly refuses to colour inside any of the lines. She’s also a proud Punjabi woman who is ready to call time on cultural appropriation, who is never afraid to embrace colour, and is unapologetic in both her feminism and her femininity. This chat is political and candid and vivacious - just like the woman you see on Instagram and YouTube. We hope you enjoy! If you want to grab some beauty goodies from Sportsgirl, remember to use the code SHAMELESS20 for a sweet 20% off! https://sportsgirl.in/SPORTSGIRL__BEAUTY This is episode was produced by Zara McDonald.

Alex, Richie, and reading between the lines

Alex, Richie, and reading between the lines

Happy Monday Shameless community! Coming up on today’s episode - the scam that’s sweeping across Instagram. Plus, the Bachelor In Paradise conversation that the country is talking about… without actually talking about it at all, and the influencer and alcohol debate that has us just a little confused. Want to follow us on Insta? Find us @shamelesspodcast. Only if you want to, though. No pressure. Kinda. Not desperate at all, promise. This episode of Shameless is brought to you by Thankyou - tackling global poverty together.

IN CONVERSATION: DJ Tigerlily

IN CONVERSATION: DJ Tigerlily

Haaaaappy Thursday friends! Wow, do we have a treat for you today. If you’ve ever been to a nightclub, or a music festival, the chances are you know the name, but perhaps you don’t know the story behind one of our country’s most successful musical exports. In this chat, we explore who DJ Tigerlily is - yes - but we also get to know Dara Hayes, the woman behind the elaborate wigs and costumes. You’ll find that Dara, the 27-year-old who lives with her boyfriend and their one-year-old Groodle, is enigmatic; a refreshing blend of passion, charm, and honesty. Thank you so much to Shopback, today's episode sponsor. To redeem your exclusive $10 offer head to www.shopback.com.au/shameless.

Baby, baby, baby, no

Baby, baby, baby, no

Hey hey it's MONDAY! On today's show: Kourtney Kardashian has a new venture, and absolutely no one is convinced by it. Justin Bieber jokes about pregnancy to suitable backlash, and Married at First Sight’s Mike says it’s a hard time to be a man. Let’s…. Unpack that. Michelle recommends How Nora McInerny Gets It Done on The Cut On Tuesdays and Zara recommends The Agony of being Theresa May by The Daily.

IN CONVERSATION: Effie Kats

Today we are joined by the force of nature that is Effie Kats. For those unfamiliar, Effie is a design powerhouse. She’s the brains behind her self-titled bespoke suiting brand, as well as Bayse Brand for perfectly cut basics and Dead End Lovers, the home of gorgeous jewellery. But the road to here wasn’t an easy one. At 23, she created cult brand Zachary The Label. Four years later, she lost everything.
