After moving into a new apartment, everything seemed normal at first. It was quiet, comfortable, and exactly what they had hoped for.

What unsettled her most wasn’t fear, exactly—but the sense that whatever was there wasn’t random. It felt consistent. Present.

She tried to convince herself it was nothing, that there had to be a logical explanation. But the longer it went on, the harder that became. Because whatever was in that apartment didn’t seem accidental. It seemed intentional.
