Trevor Browne | Messkit Magazine

Trevor Browne | Messkit Magazine

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures Podcast I talk with Trevor Browne. Growing up in Western Canada, Trevor was intrigued with the concept of bike touring from a very young age. Trevor spent a lot of time mountain biking the in Rockies, and even took jobs that would allow him to spend more time on his bike. In 2008 he went on an epic journey and cycled 7600 km across Canada. The very next year, he took on the Tour Divide and was one of the first Canadians to complete it. In 2015 Trevor rode the Paris-Brest-Paris bike race, one of the world's most highly regarded ultra-distance bike races. In the years after, Trevor started Messkit Magazine, a magazine aimed at combining all his passions into one product: photography, food and biking. This hasn't stopped Trevor from finding time to keep on pedalling. More recently he rode the Alberta Rockies 700 and the BT700 in Ontario.

BTA Ridecast: Riding the Canadian Shield 400

BTA Ridecast: Riding the Canadian Shield 400

In the spring and summer of 2021, I developed some bikepacking routes that take rides through the Outaouais Region, Laurentian Mountains, and Western parts of Quebec. One of these routes was the Grand-O, which has since been renamed the Canadian Shield 400, one of three loops that make up the Canadian Shield Bikepacking Route. Here are my notes on my riding of the CS400.To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Follow me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors. Filmed by Bike Festival + Rugile Kaladyte on her film ”I Just Want to Ride”

In this episode of Bike Tour Adventures, I get to chat with the organizer of the Filmed by Bike Festival, Ayleen Crotty. Unlike many of the Adventure Film Festivals out there, this festival is specifically aimed at showcasing the world best bike movies. As many bike tourers out there produce movies and short films of their adventures, I figured this is the perfect festival to highlight on the Bike Tour Adventures Podcast. I also have the privilege of having a chance to speak with Rugile Kaladyte, winner of the Filmed by Bike's Audience Choice Award for her film "I Just Want to Ride" in which she followed Leal Wilcox on her 2019 attempt at beating the fastest known time of the Tour Divide. Zoe and Olivier | Exploring the World With Only Human Power

Zoe and Olivier | Exploring the World With Only Human Power

In this episode of BTA, I get to met Zoe Agasi and Olivier Van Herck, a couple of travellers from Amsterdam that embarked in an open ended adventure of a life time on the very last day of September 2016. They started by traveling across Europe by bike then mixing up boats, hiking boots and skis to get wherever their curiosity would pull them. They are advocating for a slower and more sustainable way of travelling, giving the example of what is possible to achieve on zero, two, or six sets of wheels. They’ve since travelled more than 41000km and are not planning to stop anytime soon. This interview was conducted by Carl Pressault, an Ottawa/Gatineau bike tourer and bikepacker. To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Find them at:WEBSITE: https://weleaf.nl/en/ YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTRJ-6L5RnerI2wMBcliEmA INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/weleaf.nl/ FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/weleaf/ Follow me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors. BTA Ridecast - The "D"rail-leur

BTA Ridecast - The "D"rail-leur

The "D"rail-leur is a 320km rail-trail loop in the Ottawa Valley and Highlands west of Ottawa. I had previously been shown the route by a friend, but from all the research I could do, I did not find anyone had given it a name, and thus I decided to name it the "D"rail-leur, because it looks like a huge letter D, it's rail-trail, and a bike has a derailleur. In this episode I talk about my first experience riding at an ultra-endurance pace, where I challenged myself to ride the loop in a one-day period. Have to listen to learn about what I did, how I accomplished it, and what I would do differently in the future. To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Follow me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors. Nomad Family By Bicycle

Nomad Family By Bicycle

In this episode of the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, I will be speaking with Xavier, Céline, Nayla and Fibie Pasche - The Nomadic Family by Bicycle. Having been on a perpetual bike tour since 2010 and both girls being born along the way, this has resulted in the girls having more authentic experiences in their short lives than many people accumulate over decades. More than just bike tourers, the Pasche family are nomads, writers, public speakers, photographers and teachers. To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Find them at:WEBSITE: https://www.ylia.ch/index.html YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7qR1BWEKWJrSHaudLEbPhA Enfants du Monde: https://enfants.ylia.ch/ Follow me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors. Layton Keddy | Off the Beaten Path in Australia and Papua New Guinea

In this episode of Bike Tour Adventures, I catch up with Layton Keddy while he is in Australia. In 2019, Layton decided to leave Saskatchewan, Canada, and go explore the world by moving to Australia so as to be able to work and travel. With bike in hand, he would use his holidays and breaks to explore the vastness that is Australia and Tasmania. When an opportunity arose for him to take his work experience to Papua New Guinea, Layton was thrilled to have the chance to learn about a completely different way of life and experience their culture by bike.To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Find them at:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/laytonkeddy.keddy.1 INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/mytravelforevermachine/ YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiuwfhQItQV_6rZH8l9011Q Follow me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors. Carl Presseault | From European Bike Touring to Bikepacking Locally

In this episode I have the chance to speak with Carl Presseault, a nearly neighbour of mine, living in the Ottawa Capital Region. Having worked in the bike industry since 2004, Carl got into bike touring in 2013 when an ex-girlfriend told him she wanted to bike tour for a year in Europe. Although the relationship with his ex may not have lasted, the bike touring relationship is still going strong, even all these years later. More recently Carl has started to use bikepacking as a means of doing fast tours around the region he lives. To support the Bike Tour Adventures podcast, follow the links below:https://www.patreon.com/bikepackadventures orhttps://www.paypal.com/paypalme/bikepackadventures Find Carl at:INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/fork_sauce/FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/carl.presseaultFollow me at…WEBSITE: http://www.biketouradventures.com YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPQl_pNcMZA-hHckhVrpmaw FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/biketouradventures/ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/bike_tour_adventures/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/BikeTourAdv ITUNES: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/bike-tour-adventures/id1464406852 Show SponsorsThe Bike Tour Adventures podcast is incredibly lucky to have some amazing corporate sponsors.
