This is a short story about the life of the first black man to hold the heavyweight title in boxing, Jack Johnson. A brief summery will be told on fight that he won to capture the heavyweight title, and also how laws were created to try to strip him of this high honor. This podcast contains a interview with a former boxer named Robert Garris, who shares his personal experiences in the world of boxing, and his views on Jack Johnson as a fighter in the Jim Crow era.
