15. Kara Bergerstock on Student Mental Health, Having an Abortion, + Building a New Life

In today's episode, I am joined by Kara Bergerstock, a clinical psychology doctoral student currently living in Chicago. Together, we discuss struggling with our mental health as undergrads in psych programs, the need for more open conversations about topics that are deemed controversial or taboo in our society, and the freedom that comes with exploring and embracing one's full identity. Additionally, Kara opens up about how therapy has changed her life for the better, the importance of social justice and cultural diversity in her studies and work, having an abortion alone as a teen and how that affected the trajectory of her life, moving to Chicago, and having the opportunity to explore her bisexuality, ethnicity, and other parts of her identity in a new environment.
