Kristin Neff is Back! The Ultimate Guide to Burn Out. Tools to Help you Heal and Recharge When You're at Your Edge.

"Kristin Neff is THE expert in Mindful Self-Compassion. And now she's turned her attention to burn out. Thank you Kristin! I loved this episode!" (Untangle listener)

Today’s guest is the amazing Kristin Neff. She is currently an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Neff is considered one of the founders of Self Compassion and has written numerous academic articles and books on the topic. She has been recognized as one of the most influential scholars in the field of psychology. Today we discuss her most recent book, Mindful Self-Compassion for Burnout, Tools to Help You Heal and Recharge When You're Wrung Out by Stress.

And wow is there a lot of good stuff here. She shares ways we can show up for ourselves when we’re struggling or hurting, stressed, anxious or depleted. Self compassion, she reminds us, gives us a path to mindful awareness, kindness, curiosity vs. judgement…and so much more that can help to calm our nervous systems when we’re on what feels like the final edge with burnout.

There are so many great ideas, tools and practices in this interview and in her book.

How we identify burnout and replenish ourselves when we’re feeling it, how we can be more resilient using self compassion, tender acceptance and dealing with difficult emotions. How do we know when it’s time to ask ourselves the question…what do I need right now. And act on it.

There’s a ton of great inspiration here. You may want to check out the self compassion test on her website self-compassion.org. I’ll put the link in our show notes. It’s fun to take, and pretty insightful.
