Samantha Koenig’s Story

Samantha Koenig was an 18 year old Anchorage, Alaska high school student working as a barista at the Common Grounds coffee shack. During her shift on 2/1/2012, she had no way of knowing the last drink she served for the day would begin the unfolding of terrifying events. As mentioned in the episode, an INCREDIBLE source of information is Maureen Callahan's book American Predator: The Hunt for the Most Meticulous Serial Killer of the 21st Century ***CORRECTION: during the episode, I mentioned the ice thickness at Matanuska Lake was about 2-3 feet then realized I was saying feet like an idiot. I had to go back and turns out, the ice Keyes was trying to cut through was about 20 inches thick. Can you tell I live in the Midwest? 2-3 inches thick would be crazy to me. 🤷🏼‍♀️
