When Will the HBO Harry Potter REBOOT be Released?! - Harry Potter News

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing the expected timeline for the newly announced, highly anticipated HBO Max reboot of the Harry Potter series--since we all want to know--WHEN are we going to be able to see this thing!?!Well, in its original medium as novels, the Harry Potter series took readers on a seven-year journey that revolved around Harry's magical education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. From the age of 11 to the time he turned 18, Harry went from a neglected orphan with untidy black hair to a globally celebrated wizard...with untidy black hair. And while the narrative of the story itself spanned seven years throughout the course of seven books, the publications of the novels themselves were actually released over an entire decade, with the first novel, The Philosopher's Stone, coming out in 1997 and the final book, The Deathly Hallows, being released 10 years later in 2007.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

How the Wealthy Gaunts Became SO POOR - Harry Potter Theory

How the Wealthy Gaunts Became SO POOR - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing the rise and fall of the once extraordinarily wealthy House of Gaunt. The Gaunt family lineage descended from two very famous wizards of old--Salazar Slytherin and Cadmus Peverell. The former, of course, being one of the four founding members of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and the latter being the middle of the three fabled brothers who faced Death and came away with the Deathly Hallows.Although I can't comment too much on the affluence of the Peverell family, Salazar Slytherin was decidedly wealthy due to his ability to found a school as large and well-renowned as Hogwarts--not to mention his solo construction of the Chamber of Secrets. This leads me to believe that the House of Gaunt must have built its empire on the wealth of their Slytherin ancestor. While it's unknown exactly how much wealth the Gaunts had, we do know that they once had copious amounts of gold and an abundance of incredibly valuable family heirlooms, including Salazar Slytherin's wand, the signet ring passed down by Cadmus Peverell--which ended up having the Resurrection Stone concealed within it--and Salazar Slytherin's gold locket which was inlaid with glittering green stones in the shape of an S.But, with all this money and such a vast collection of valuable objects, how did they go from being super rich to absolutely destitute by the 1900s? Well, here are three things that I believe majorly contributed to their downfall...Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Was Hogwarts' Architect MORE POWERFUL than the Founders? - Harry Potter Theory

Was Hogwarts' Architect MORE POWERFUL than the Founders? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing whether or not the architect who built Hogwarts was MORE POWERFUL than the school's four founding members. For those of you who may not know, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was not actually built by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin--the powerful witches and wizards who founded it. In reality, when the castle was constructed in the late 900s, an unknown wizard who was not among the founding members was commissioned to design the school, and it was he who was behind the planning and building of the actual castle.Although the exact identity of this mysterious architect remains unknown to this day, what we do know is that he was a wizard--and not a witch--due to the statue of him located in the Entrance Hall of Hogwarts Castle. The statue is made of gold and depicts the architect holding a model of the castle in one hand, and charts depicting the school's design in the other. Small Details We HOPE the Harry Potter HBO Show Will Include

Small Details We HOPE the Harry Potter HBO Show Will Include

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing the brand new television adaptation of the Harry Potter series that has just been officially announced by HBO Max.On April 12, the WarnerBrosDiscovery's direct-to-consumer offering shared on Twitter:"Your Hogwarts letter is here. Max has ordered the first ever #HarryPotter scripted television series, a faithful adaptation of the iconic books. #StreamOnMax"The tweet was posted alongside a brief trailer of the newly ordered series, which didn't give too much insight into what fans can expect from the series--other than a whole heck of a lot of nostalgia for fans of the original novels and films. And while I thoroughly enjoyed the movies, it's no surprise that the film adaptations were unable to include EVERY DETAIL from the novels. It simply would've made the movies too long. And, while I suppose the writers and producers could have split each and every book into multiple-part films--as they did with the seventh book, which had a part one and part two as movies--this would've left much to be desired at the end of each film, considering it would only take you part way through a novel's story arc. So, all that said, my HOPE for the television series is that it will include A LOT more than the movies ever did. Beloved scenes from the novels that never made it into the films, additional backstory on certain characters that the movies didn't have time for...and more...You can check out my more in-depth video on 10 things the films missed that the show NEEDS TO INCLUDE if you want my complete list of this type of thing.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

How Much Money Did Hermione Granger Have? - Harry Potter Theory

How Much Money Did Hermione Granger Have? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing just how RICH Hermione Granger was during the Harry Potter series. While both the affluence of powerful wizarding dynasties like the Malfoys and the lack of wealth of families like the Weaslesy were made abundantly clear through glimpses of wardrobe, magical accessories and ancestral homes, the monetary standing of many of the series' Muggle-born witches and wizards remained somewhat of a mystery. For example, in regards to Hermione specifically, we barely saw her family home and, since she was Muggle-born, her possessions were quite difficult to quantify against the magical belongings of her peers. So, how RICH was the Granger family? Well, I did a bit of digging, and I've come to the conclusion that, while they may not have been the MOST WEALTHY of people, they were definitely upper-middle class. Dumbledore Was an ANIMAGUS - Harry Potter Theory

Dumbledore Was an ANIMAGUS - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing Albus Dumbledore and Transfiguration. More specifically- we're going to be honing in on one particular branch of transfiguration- the branch surrounding becoming an Animagus. An animagus, simply put, is a witch or wizard that is able to transform themselves into an animal and back again. Animagus is a combination of the word "animal" and the Greek word "magus", which together form "animal wizard". 'Animagus' should not be confused with 'Metamorphmagus' which refers to witches or wizards who are born with the ability to change their form at will. There are quite a few known Animagi exhibited throughout the series, including James Potter- a stag, Sirius Black- a dog, Peter Pettigrew- a rat, Rita Skeeter- a beetle, and Minerva McGonagall- a cat, just to name a few.Now you might be thinking- that's not a lot of people, surely there are MORE witches and wizards that are animagi, right?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

What Happened to Aunt Marge? - Harry Potter Explained

What Happened to Aunt Marge? - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing what happened to Aunt Marge, the rather unpleasant relative of the Dursleys. As the older sister to Vernon Dursley, Harry's uncle by marriage, Marjorie Eileen Dursley was known to Harry Potter since he was a chi*ld as simply "Aunt Marge". Due to his actual blood relation in the Dursley family being Veron's wife, Petunia--who was the older sister of Harry's mother Lily--the fact that Harry was made to call Marge his aunt was a bit of an affront in itself. After all, she was completely terrible to Harry, being an extremely prejudiced and outspoken woman who believed Harry's parents had been useless, unemployed individuals, rather than the brave witch and wizard that they were--a fact she liked to bring up to Harry all the time. Now, considering that Aunt Marge would insult Harry and his dead parents on a consistent basis during her visits to the Dursley home, it's no wonder that Harry would lose his temper with her on just about every trip she made to Number 4 Privet Drive. And, of course, from the beginning of the series, we see what happens when Harry gets lost in his emotions--especially, extreme emotions. Seemingly inexplicable things would happen. For example, when Harry accidentally made the glass on the snake exhibit disappear at the zoo after he became angry with Dudley. Although odd at the time, as we progressed through The Philosopher's Stone, we came to know that these supposed "oddities" were actually Harry's magical abilities unintentionally coming out. In the case of the glass at the zoo, Harry wasn't even aware that he was a wizard at the time and therefore didn't recognize the event as being magical. But by the time we meet Aunt Marge in The Prisoner of Azkaban, we're well aware of what can happen when Harry experiences intense emotion. And so, as Aunt Marge hurls insult after insult at Harry about his deceased parents and their supposed inadequacies, she aggravates him to the point that he blows her up like a large barrage balloon. Throughout the game, players begin to uncover the reasons behind Sebastian's unpleasant demeanour, with the primary discovery being that his twin was cursed by dark magic and he will stop at nothing to find a cure for her.But what exactly happened to Anne?
