Delighted to introduce @_donzii as our 10th guest on Based! Double digits!! Donzii is a performance art, no wave/post punk/funk vibe from Miami via NYC. The music has a penchant for drum machines/bass accompanied with mythical utopian guitars. Their live shows are kept exciting by employing a revolving use of performance art scores developed by lead singer Jenna Balfe, based on her art practice. Donzii is: Jenna Balfe on vocals, Dennis Fuller on bass and drum machines, Miles Fortune Hancock on keys, Monroe Getz on drums and Danny Heinze on guitar. In this interview, we’ll be talking about their newest single “Burn” and perhaps they might share a few more very exclusive tracks to help us to get thru our quarantine in one piece. If you’ve been around the music scene here in SoFlo, chances are, you’ve seen Donzii at your favorite venues and festivals. Donzii is known for their performance art narrative and skilled musicianship, and don’t align to any one sound or genre. Call ‘em post punk, goth, or no wave—they’re not here to conform. As always, please listen to our fourth podcast rendition of Based and follow us on Instagram @based90.5! Thanks for your support + DM us for appearances.
