No: Sindre så ut av vinduet.
En: Sindre looked out the window.

No: Snøen falt tett og dekket landskapet i et tykt hvitt lag.
En: The snow was falling thickly, covering the landscape in a thick white layer.

No: Han satt på bussen, tretti mil fra Oslo.
En: He was sitting on the bus, three hundred kilometers from Oslo.

No: Det var nyttårsaften, og han skulle overraske Kari.
En: It was New Year's Eve, and he was going to surprise Kari.

No: Hun visste ikke at han kom.
En: She didn't know he was coming.

No: Kari bodde i Oslo, og de hadde hatt et avstandsforhold i ett år.
En: Kari lived in Oslo, and they had been in a long-distance relationship for a year.

No: Sindre følte nervene i magen.
En: Sindre felt nerves in his stomach.

No: Han gledet seg til å se Kari, men også til å se om gnisten fortsatt var der.

No: "Ta den," sa han.
En: "Take it," he said.

No: Sindre takket ham, kastet sekken over skulderen, og gikk ut i snøen.
En: Sindre thanked him, threw his backpack over his shoulder, and went out into the snow.

No: Oslo Central Station var full av folk.
En: Oslo Central Station was full of people.

No: Lysene glitret, og det var hektisk aktivitet overalt.
En: The lights glittered, and there was hectic activity everywhere.

No: Men Sindre så bare en destinasjon: Kari.
En: But Sindre saw only one destination: Kari.

No: På sykkelen kjempet han mot snø og vind.
En: On the bike, he battled against the snow and wind.

No: Han måtte komme frem før midnatt.
En: He had to get there before midnight.

No: I det øyeblikket visste Sindre at avstanden ikke lenger spilte noen rolle.
