Day 15 The Half Filled Cup

Day 15 The Half Filled Cup

DAY 15 — THE HALF-FILLED CUP

A spiritual retreat group gathered around a mentor.
He placed a half-filled cup of water in the center and asked,
“What do you see?”

One participant said,
“It’s half empty.”
Another said,
“It’s half full.”

But the mentor smiled and said,
“It is half thirsty.”

The group fell silent.
He continued,
“Thirst is not a weakness—
it is a signal.
The cup is telling you what it needs.”

The lesson stayed with them long after the retreat ended.

Many people enter Lent feeling spiritually dry,
empty, tired, unmotivated in prayer.
We often see this as failure.

But spiritual thirst is not failure—
it is invitation.
It is the cup of your soul saying,
“I need God.”

Lent is not the season of pretending to be full.
It is the season of admitting
that you are thirsty.

The Samaritan woman didn’t receive grace
because she was holy—
but because she was thirsty.

Your emptiness is where God wants to pour Himself in.
