A glance toward the water’s edge revealed a horrific sight. There, wedged between two rocks, was the lifeless body of a female dressed only in blue jeans. It was 14-year-old, Brandy DuVall, who’d been reported missing by her mother the day prior. Her injuries told the tale of a merciless crime. Months later, a tip led investigators to several suspects who’d go on trial for her murder. As it turned out, the tip resulted from an “unwilling witness” who said he hadn’t stopped the murder because he was afraid for his life.
