On the afternoon of Sunday 29th December 1969, Elenora Essens, a troubled woman who was prone to disappearing without warning having escaped a brutal marriage with her husband in Mansfield, walked out on her boyfriend, never to return. Almost three years later and 16 miles south, her dismembered body was found in three shallow graves near to Leatherhead golf course. But who had killed her, and why had they dissected her body?
