Remember The Game? #124 - Bubble Bobble

We waited too long to talk Bubble Bobble. I know it, I admit it, I apologize for it, and I plan to fix it right fucking now. This is one of those games that everyone knows. Even if you didn't play it back in the day, you've heard of it. The gameplay is very simple, and so damned fun. One of the things I adore about (good) retro video games is that they didn't rely on 4k ray tracing dynamic explosive graphics or fancy controllers, they were either fun or they weren't. No smoke and mirrors. Bubble Bobble falls into that category, and games like this are timeless. Absolutely timeless. My buddy and fellow old piece of shit Brad is back on the show this week, and we spent a nice little chunk of time talking about blowing bubbles and eating candy and running away from a stupid fucking white ghost whale that eats souls. And as always, before the game talk, it's the fabled 'Remember The Game?' intro! I talk about teachers being under-appreciated, the Uncharted series, when we'll start talking PS3 and Xbox 360 on the show, and more! We also have another ripping edition of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One'. This week, sticking with the theme of Bubble Bobble, it's the 'cute gaming characters that have apparent eating disorders' edition, starring Yoshi, Snake Rattle N' Roll, and Kirby's Adventure.
