Your Words

Choose words that are Christ like, gentle and considerate. Avoid harsh, critical, or demeaning language. Treat others with respect and speak to them in a way that acknowledges their worth and dignity.

Truly listen to others when they speak, giving them your full attention. This shows that you value their thoughts and opinions. Avoid interrupting or dismissing their ideas. Instead, seek to understand and empathize with their perspective.

If you need to provide feedback or address a concern, do so in a constructive manner. Focus on the behavior or issue at hand rather than attacking the person's character. Offer suggestions for improvement and encourage growth.

Express gratitude and appreciation for the people around you. Acknowledge their contributions and efforts. Genuine words of thanks and praise can uplift others and strengthen relationships.

When conflicts arise, approach them with a willingness to listen, understand, and find a resolution through prayerful open and respectful dialogue. Avoid resorting to harsh words, insults, or personal attacks. Strive for peaceful and constructive communication.

Refrain from engaging in gossip, spreading rumors, or speaking negatively about your Christian brothers and sisters. Instead, focus on building a positive and supportive atmosphere. Encourage others to do the same by setting an example with your own words.

  1. Proverbs 15:1 (NIV): "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

  2. Ephesians 4:29 (NIV): "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."

  3. James 1:19 (NIV): "My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry."

  4. Proverbs 16:24 (NIV): "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

  5. Colossians 4:6 (NIV): "Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."

  6. Proverbs 18:21 (NIV): "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

  7. Matthew 12:36-37 (NIV): "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words, you will be condemned."
