Matera is a unique city in the tiny region of Basilicata. Said to be the longest continually inhabited city in the world, it's a place of wonder and intrigue and is a beautiful setting for visitors to explore.

Through the collaboration and fortitude of its residents, this city shook off its troubled past to rebuild, rejuvenate and be named a European City of Culture in 2019.
