45 year old Albert Welch had lived in a council house in Cranborne Crescent in Potter's Bar, Middlesex with his wife Phyllis and 16-year-old son. He worked worked on the railways as a railway electrician.
Known to his work colleagues as Snakey, he was looking to move out of Potters Bar- though why it’s unknown.
