Written by Cormac McCarthy, the film is a sprawling sun-baked neo-noir wherein our titular Counselor (Michael Fassbender) gets involved in the drug trade only to set off a spiral of tragic events. Boasting a stunning cast of celebrities, the film was not well received upon its theatrical release.
