How to talk to conspiracy theorists

Everyone knows a conspiracy theorist. Someone who believes we didn’t make it to the moon; or the September 11 attacks were a hoax.

We talk about how to deal with conspiracy theorists – and how seemingly ludicrous concepts gain traction.

    BONUS: Australia’s Nazi Hunters

    BONUS: Australia’s Nazi Hunters

In the mid-1980s, Australia was forced to confront an uncomfortable truth - hundreds of suspected Nazi war criminals had quietly made this country their home. They’d slipped in after World War II, living unremarkable lives in the suburbs, hiding in plain sight. Leading the effort to uncover them was the Special Investigations Unit, a team tasked with tracking down those who thought they’d escaped justice. Prosecutor Graham Blewitt was at the heart of that search. In this special bonus, we’re sharing the first episode of Secrets We Keep: Uncovered with you. You’ll hear investigative journalist Joey Watson sit down with Graham Blewitt to revisit that extraordinary investigation, and what it reveals about Australia’s long, complex history with the far right.
