In order to depersonalise our interactions with full blown covert narcissist, it’s important to understand how they operate and their thought processes as related to their targets. In understanding why they act towards others and say and do destructive things, that we can find healing from the emotional suffering they insist on to regulate themselves. Narcissists follow a major behaviour cyclical pattern, lovebombing, devaluation, discard and hoover on repeat. However, there are also cycles within cycles of behaviour patterns and dynamics on repeat, just as the smaller cogs turn the bigger ones and so the outer wheel of the personality disordered narcissist turns. The manner in which a narcissist acts with their target is cyclical and predictable on repeat. Understanding this objectification and repetitive behaviour may help others depersonalise their experience and expedite healing.
