Today's question: A young American man named Henry McCarty was very popular in the 1800's. Mostly because of his profession. Even after his death, the legend of McCarty grew enormously (mostly by exaggeration) - but for how famous he was… only one true photo of him was known to exist. Fast forward to 2015, a man from Fresno, California bought a stack of old pictures from an antique store for $2.... and after bringing it home, he realized one photo was of our guy McCarty. That picture was recently appraised at over 5.3 million dollars. Why was Henry McCarty so famous?
