Episode 53 - Annie Talks with George Zhao | Hanart Culture | Chinese Lantern Festival Arrives in LA

I had the privilege of speaking with George Zhao, president of Hanart Culture, which is the producer of the event.
 The Festival brings over 1,000 handcrafted illuminated lanterns depicting larger than life animals and transforming festival-goers into a colorful wonderland. The Festival runs for eight weeks January 6, 2019. This is a great social outing for the young and the young at heart, families, small or large groups. The theme of the Chinese Lantern Festival is “The Wild”, showcasing life-size animals (including lions, pandas, whales, hippos, and many more) from around the world including Africa, Asia, Anartica, Oceania, and the Americas. Additionally, there will be a craft marketplace with authentic Chinese jewelry, embroidery art, artifacts, sugar art, paper-cut, fabric art, dough figurine, and Kung Fu performances every night (with lessons at the end of each show), puppet shadow plays, and plenty of tasty food! Tickets can be purchased at the event, or online at www.ChineseLanternFestival.com for $13 - $21. Gates open from 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. with the last admission at 9:20 p.m. Fairplex parking is $12.
