Everything We Don't Know

For all of our progress, the list of things we don't understand is still longer than the list of things we do.

We've split the atom. We've mapped the human genome. We've landed on the moon and sent robots to Mars. Every generation believes it's closer to figuring it all out. And every generation discovers just how much it was wrong about.

We still don't know what 95% of the universe is made of. We can't explain why we dream. We don't understand how consciousness works. We have no idea what's at the bottom of our own oceans. We've cataloged millions of species and suspect there are millions more we haven't found.

The more we learn, the more the mystery grows. Every answer opens ten new questions. Every breakthrough reveals how much was hiding behind it.
