The Story of Delphini: Voldemort's Daughter - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing the background of Voldemort's (& Bellatrix's) DAUGHTER- that's right you heard me, DAUGHTER- Delphini. Now, if you've only read the original books / seen the original films, then you're probably completely lost right now. BUT, if you're up to speed on the The Cursed Child- Rowling's Harry Potter sequel that follows the children of our favourite protagonists, then you might be a little more privy with regards to Voldemort's unlikely offspring. The most interesting aspect of all of this, however, is that she was purportedly conceived DURING the events of the original books.

The Harry Potter universe is rich with an ever-expanding list of complex characters and intricate storylines, with each new addition to canon adding new layers to the already vast and fascinating world created by J.K. Rowling. One such addition is Delphini, the daughter of the Dark Lord Voldemort AND..drum roll please, the infamous Bellatrix Lestrange. Delphini's existence was revealed in the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," and her character has been a source of both fascination and controversy among fans of the series.

One of the main points of contention for fans is that the Cursed Child simply wasn't well done, and it's popularity has reflected that.

It's marketed as the eighth story- a continuation 19 years POST Deathly Hallows which follows the children of the characters that we grew up with. Main characters include Harry Potter- who is now head of the department of magical law enforcement at the ministry of magic, his younger son, Albus Potter, who's just about to embark on his own journey at Hogwarts, Scorpius Malfoy, the son of Draco Malfoy, and of course Delphini.

But, rather than being made in to a film adaptation, the Cursed Child was made in to a two part play - rather than a feature film. The play primarily comes under scrutiny from Harry Potter fans because of its disregard for the traditional Harry Potter canon.-

Though Rowling has affirmed that the play should be accepted as part of canon- most fans simply won't put up with this. This is for a couple of reasons, first of all-the storyline truly upsets our perceptions of the traditional Harry Potter universe. The notion that Voldemort could have a child when he was born entirely devoid of certain emotions, is just one example of something The Cursed Child did that didn't sit well with fans. The next big issue for most fans is that Rowling didn't write the play all on her own- and because other people had influence on how the play and story would turn out, it seems to be the general consensus that it can't truly be canon.-

On the front cover, it very clearly reads:

Based on an original new story by

J.K. Rowling

John Tiffany & Jack Thorne

But, just for a moment- let's entertain the version of 'canon' introduced by the Cursed Child- and the absurd notion that Voldemort- devoid of emotion and social graces, could POSSIBLY conceive a child with his right-hand-woman and resident wizarding world LUNATIC- Bellatrix Lestrange.-

In this video we'll delve deeper into the background and motivations of Delphini, exploring her origins, her actions, and what her character adds to the Harry Potter universe.

Does Hogwarts LIE to the Parents of Magical Children? – Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we’ll be discussing how ordinary Muggles react when they find out that their child is magical. The majority of Muggle-born witches and wizards do not discover that they are magical until they are invited to come study magic as a child. In the United Kingdom, this momentous occasion takes place the year of a child’s eleventh birthday by way of mail. Each young witch or wizard receives their letter of acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry sometime over the summer months before the start of term in the fall. Before Voldemort: The Untold Story of Quirinus Quirrell (1967-1992)

The trembling stutter of a nervous man. A turban concealing a horrifying secret. And behind it all: the face of the Dark Lord himself.Quirinus Quirrell is often remembered as the timid, stuttering Defence Against the Dark Arts professor from Harry Potter’s first year at Hogwarts. Nervous, soft-spoken, and constantly hiding behind that signature purple turban — he appeared (at least at first) to be one of the least threatening figures Harry could have encountered. But as we later find out, appearances can be deceiving.By the time Quirrell stood in front of Harry in the Great Hall, the man he once was had already begun to disappear. His brilliant mind, once shaped by academic curiosity, had been twisted by ambition and fear. And in pursuit of recognition he didn’t believe he could achieve on his own, he turned to the darkest source of power imaginable.During the 1991–92 school year, Quirrell became one of the most consequential figures in modern wizarding history — not because of who he was, but because of who he allowed himself to serve.Today, we’re going to explore the full life of Quirinus Quirrell — from his overlooked beginnings as a brilliant Ravenclaw scholar, to the fateful journey that led him into Voldemort’s grasp, and the horrifying transformation that followed.Let’s dive into it.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The COMPLETE History of the Deathly Hallows – From the Peverells to Harry Potter

The COMPLETE History of the Deathly Hallows – From the Peverells to Harry Potter

If we trace the origins of the most powerful magical artifacts in history — the Deathly Hallows — the trail always leads back to one family: the Peverells.Three brothers whose story exists somewhere between myth and memory — remembered in children’s tales, but also immortalized in wizarding history. To begin to unravel their story, we have to separate myth from memory — and uncover the truth buried beneath a thousand years of legend. And there’s no better place to start than the story every wizard knows by heart — first written down by Beedle the Bard in the fifteenth century: The Tale of the Three Brothers.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Life of Gellert Grindelwald: The FIRST Dark Lord (1882-1998)

The Life of Gellert Grindelwald: The FIRST Dark Lord (1882-1998)

Before he was a name whispered in fear — before Nurmengard, before the Elder Wand, before Dumbledore — there was simply a boy. A brilliant, golden-haired boy, born in Eastern Europe in the late nineteenth century — whose name was Gellert Grindelwald.Little is recorded about Grindelwald’s family or childhood, but what fragments survive describe a wizard of exceptional promise from the very beginning. His ancestry is believed to have been of northern European descent, possibly linked to an old wizarding line with strong magical blood. Whether or not that family shared his views, however, is another question entirely. From a young age, Grindelwald displayed a kind of brilliance that unsettled those around him. He was curious about everything — but especially the boundaries of magic. Most children who show magical ability experiment with simple enchantments or charms. Grindelwald experimented with control — the art of bending will, power, and fate to his own design.Even as a boy, he possessed what Dumbledore would later call “a dangerous gift, the power to make others see what he wanted them to see, to make his lies sound like truth.”See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
