Ep. 68: Analysis of CIDP guidelines

The existing guidelines were last revised over a decade ago, and this new version aims to reflect the latest advancements in clinical and basic research. Prof. Van den Bergh highlights the common pitfalls in CIDP diagnosis and emphasizes the need for accurate diagnostic criteria. The guidelines include flowcharts, tables, and criteria for different CIDP variants, as well as suggestions for supportive criteria to upgrade the diagnosis from possible CIDP to CIDP. The episode also delves into the treatment approaches, with an emphasis on corticosteroids, IVIG, and plasma exchange, and when to consider nerve biopsy.
