BRILLIANT MED STUDENT DISAPPEARS FROM INSIDE A BAR: WHERE'S BRIAN?

BRILLIANT MED STUDENT DISAPPEARS FROM INSIDE A BAR: WHERE'S BRIAN?

Brian Shaffer drives 30 minutes from Columbus to celebrate the start of Spring Break with a steak dinner at his father’s house.

During dinner, Brian eagerly discusses his upcoming vacation to Miami with his girlfriend, Alexis Waggoner. According to his family, Brian plans to propose during the trip. He also mentions plans to go out that evening with his former roommate, William “Clint” Florence.

At 9:00 p.m., Brian meets Clint at the Ugly Tuna Saloona, a popular college bar on the second floor of the Gateway Building. Around 10:00 p.m., Brian calls Alexis to check in before he and Clint head to another bar in the Arena District. They visit several bars, each having a shot, before meeting up with Clint’s friend, Meredith Reed, around midnight. The group then returns to the Ugly Tuna in Meredith’s car for one last round.

At 1:15 a.m., Brian, Clint, and Meredith ride the Gateway Building escalator back to the Ugly Tuna and have another round of shots while listening to the band. Brian steps outside the bar to chat with two women, leaving Clint and Meredith to spend some time alone. Surveillance footage captures Brian speaking to the women until 1:55 a.m.

Five minutes later, as the bar begins to close and patrons head down the escalator, Clint and Meredith realize Brian is missing. Assuming he walked home to his off-campus apartment, located six blocks away, they leave.

On Saturday morning, Alexis calls Brian to finalize plans for their upcoming vacation. Her call goes straight to voicemail, but she assumes he is still sleeping off the previous night. That afternoon, her second call also goes unanswered.

Brian’s father and brother, Randy and Derek Shaffer, also fail to reach him. On Sunday, Derek visits Brian’s apartment. He finds Brian’s car parked outside, and nothing seems out of place inside the apartment, but Brian is nowhere to be found.

When Brian doesn’t show up at the airport on Monday morning, Randy reports him missing.

Investigators review surveillance footage from the Gateway Building. Brian is last seen walking off camera toward the Ugly Tuna’s entrance but never comes back down the escalator. He is not seen exiting the building through an emergency door or other exits.

The only other way out from the second floor is a service door leading to an area under construction. This door provides access to a temporary freight elevator and a service ladder. Climbing down would have been challenging for a sober person, let alone someone intoxicated.

Nearby surveillance cameras from other bars should have captured Brian if he had exited the Gateway Building through the first-floor doors, but no footage shows him leaving.

Columbus police search garbage leaving the building, the sewers below, and use dogs to comb a miles-wide radius. Despite extensive efforts, no trace of Brian Shaffer is found.

KILLER O.J. SIMPSON SPIED ON MY SOFA SEX SESSION WITH NICOLE

Keith Zlomsowitch, a former boyfriend of Nicole Brown Simpson, has written a new book titled "STALKED: 'It could have been me." Zlomsowitch's book is his firsthand account of his relationship with O.J. Simpson's ex-wife, Simpson's stalking, the murders of Brown and Ron Goldman, and the trial. Keith Zlomsowitch, a restaurateur dated Nicole Brown Simpson for about a month, shortly after she separated from O.J. Simpson. Their relationship was characterized by intense stalking from O.J. Simpson. Zlomsowitch told a grand jury that Simpson stalked and spied on them, including a time he watched them through a window while they were on the couch during sex. In the new book, Zlomsowitch shares details never before released, and today he joins Nancy Grace. The night of Nicole's murder, after daughter Sydney’s dance recital, Nicole, the children, and her family leave O.J. When Nicole's mother accidentally leaves her glasses behind, friend Ron Goldman, who works at the restaurant, volunteers to drop them off at Nicole's house. Goldman leaves Mezzaluna at 9:45 p.m. Later that night, a neighbor sees Nicole's dog, a white Akita named Kato, wandering the neighborhood alone, barking. The neighbor assumes Kato got out of the yard, but the dog seems agitated, and on closer inspection, they notice he has bloody paws. The neighbor follows Kato to investigate, discovering Nicole and Ron’s bodies at 12:10 a.m. Detectives Mark Furhman and Philip Vannatter go to Simpson's home, which is nearby, and notify him of his wife's death. Furhman sees what appears to be bloodstains on Simpson's Ford Bronco decides to jump the fence to gain access to Simpson's property. Vannatter declares Simpson’s home to be a crime scene and goes to secure a search warrant for the house around 7 a.m. Joining Nancy Grace Today: Chris Melcher - Celebrity Lawyer and Partner at Walzer Melcher & Yoda Dr. Cheryl Arutt - Licensed Clinical and Forensic Psychologist specializing in Trauma Recovery, PTSD and EMDR, website: askdrcheryl.com; IG: @askdrcheryl Jon Buehler - Former Detective for Modesto Police Department, California, detective in Scott Peterson Investigation Shannon Henry - President & Founder of SASS Go (Surviving Assault Standing Strong: a nonprofit on a mission to eradicate abuse, trafficking and violence against women and girls globally) Case Consultant, and Adjunct Professor at the University of South Carolina in the Department of Education; @sassgoglobal on FB, Instagram, X, and TikTok Alexis Tereszcuk - "Crime Stories" Investigative Reporter; X @swimmie2009 Dave Mack - 'Crime Stories' Investigative Reporter See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

6,000 LETTERS, THOUSANDS IN DONATIONS, BILLBOARDS RENTED, LUIGI MANGIONE FANS WONT STOP

Luigi Mangione's legal team created a website for the accused killer, they say “due to the extraordinary volume of inquiries and outpouring of support. His attorneys say the website — luigimangioneinfo.com — was created to ”share case updates, “dispel information” and publish letters from Mangione while he’s incarcerated. He writes “I am overwhelmed by — and grateful for — everyone who has written me to share their stories and express their support.” That support include thousands donations for his legal fees. Luigi Mangione's defense team describes his "beautiful, promising life" as "derailed" by the murder charges against him. This phrasing is not highlighted as a saying from Mangione's groupies, but as a phrase coming from Mangione's attorney as part of a legal motion filed to dismiss the federal case or get the death penalty tossed. As part of an evidence suppression hearing in the upcoming trial of Luigi Mangione, prosecutors play a 911 call placed by the manager of a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The McDonald's manager is not identified, and the hearing is the first time the 911 call is played in public. The manager is apologetic as she tells the 911 operator she tried the non-emergency line first and continues taking orders as she tells the operator, "I have a customer here some other customers were suspicious of because he looks like the CEO shooter in New York. "And they're just really upset and come to me, and I'm like, I can't approach him." The 911 operator, Emily States, testifies and is heard asking for a description of the individual, with the manager replying,"The only thing you can see is the eyebrows." Mangione's defense attorney, Marc Agnifilo, objects to the 911 call being played, but the judge says he is allowing the call for this hearing. Mangione enters the courtroom in shackles, but the judge allows Mangione to sit unshackled and take notes at the defense table. Long lines outside the courthouse filled with women and men supporters trying to enter the hearing, hoping to get a glimpse of the alleged CEO murderer. Mangione's defense team is trying to prevent several key pieces of evidence from being allowed at trial, like the comment about the 3-D printed pistol. Angifilo claims conversations with correction officers were illegally coerced and should not be allowed. The defense claims Mangione is questioned for 20 minutes by Altoona Police Officer Joseph Detwiler without being read his Miranda rights. Therefore, prosecutors should not be allowed to introduce any testimony about statements made by Mangione to police. United States District Judge Margaret Garnett says she will rule on the defense’s request to drop death penalty charges and the exclusions at a later hearing. If the murder charge remains, Garnett a trial could start in late December or early January 2027. If charges dropped, Mangione's trial might begin this October. Mangione has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Mangione’s next hearing date for Jan. 30.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

TOT MOM CASEY ANTHONY CHEWS-OUT VP VANCE, PARTIES W/REAL HOUSEWIVES

TOT MOM CASEY ANTHONY CHEWS-OUT VP VANCE, PARTIES W/REAL HOUSEWIVES

Tot Mom Casey Anthony joins the latest Substack post, which takes Vice President JD Vance to task for his protection of the ICE agents involved in the death of 37-year-old protestor Renee Nicole Good. Anthony calls the shooting a crime, writing that it should be investigated "as all other officer-involved crimes". She also demands the release of any available body-camera video. When Anthony first launches her Substack, she claims she has "been in the legal field since 2011." That's an accurate statement if being on trial for her daughter's murder counts as legal experience. Anthony was acquitted of murder but convicted of lying to police. Substack is a subscription-based platform for writers and podcasters. Subscriptions to her channel cost $10 per month or $100 annually, with a free tier offering limited content. The world learned about Casey Anthony when her mother called 911 to report that her granddaughter had been missing for nearly a month and that Casey had just admitted it. Anthony spun a web of lies, claiming a nanny had taken 2-year-old Caylee and had not returned her. Police and the media got involved, but none of her claims proved true. On October 14, 2008, a grand jury indicted Anthony on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child, and four counts of providing false information to police. A jury acquitted Anthony of murder, but convicted her on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement.
