Welcome back everyone! Riley and I have been looking forward to this episode for quite a while now. This week we talk with Rebecca and her father Sarah Kelly. Sara Kelly is a transgender woman and the father of three wonderful children. She has known since she was a toddler but growing up in the 50s and 60s she often felt isolated and alone not knowing anyone like her. Years after her wife's passing and decades after suppressing her true self, Sarah Kelly finally decided to come out and freely be herself. We talk: still being referred to as “dad”, how Sarah came out to her friends and family, how Sarah’s transition began, how this journey has been for Rebecca, and how to be a supportive person when someone comes out as transgender. We also answer a ton of listener questions! It was an absolute pleasure to talk to with these two women and witness the love and acceptance that is so present within this father and daughter duo.
