S5 Ep2: The Munich Massacre

S5 Ep2: The Munich Massacre

This week's episode takes us back to 1972 and to the German city of Munich. 1972 was set to be a momentous year for Germany - as hosts to the Olympic Games, the country was looking forward to repairing its reputation on the world stage following its conduct in World War II, just 27 years earlier. Whilst this would have been the perfect opportunity to cement itself as a country that celebrated peace and joy, it wasn't to be for Germany that year... A terror cell hellbent on retribution put paid to that... In the heart of the Olympic Village, nine Israeli Olympians were taken hostage. What followed is the stuff of nightmares.
