Years ago, I was reading my Bible as I do each day. The Holy Spirit highlighted a verse of scripture to me. It brought me understanding and direction when I desperately needed it. The verse was Psalms 119:130 which says, "The entrance of Your words gives light;

Utah is a state that upholds capital punishment for certain crimes. According to God, there are actually two reasons for the death penalty  The first reason is because man is God’s highest creation, and we are an image bearer of God (Genesis 1:26). To murder a person, who is made in the image of God, is in essence to slap God in the face, dishonor, and sin directly against God. There is an interesting verse in the Old Testament that lets us know what darkness entails. There are dark places on the earth that attract evil and sin such as dimly lit nightclubs, dark alley ways, underground tunnels and caves torturing hostages, and criminals commit more acts of violence at night. In other words, many physically dark places are full of the habitations of ruthlessness, violence, cruel hatred, and destruction.
