The New York Mets and New York Yankees have had brilliant first halves of the MLB season and seem destined to run into each other for the World Series at the end of this season. The Mets have been surprising in that they've done it without the help of their two best pitchers and the Yankees have done it with, largely, the same roster as 2021. Probably just as surprising are the teams that aren't playing well like the Los Angeles Angels, the Seattle Mariners, the Philadelphia Phillies, just to name a few. The Minnesota Twins have been an awesome bounce back story in the AL Central, but the Cleveland Guardians are hot on their heels.
