You come home from school crying one day and try to avoid looking at your daddy until you can get to your room to cry in private. Of course you should have known you can’t hide from him. Your daddy can always read you like a book. He pulls you into his lap and gently coaxes the truth out of you. People have been making fun of your body again at school. You can’t help it that you’re so curvy and look nothing like this perfect skinny ideal that all the guys seem to want. As you cry on your dad’s lap he assures you that guys love curvy girls like you. But if that’s true, why do all the guys make fun of your body? Your daddy tries to reason with you but eventually he starts getting impatient with you. He seems determined to find a way to convince you of how beautiful your body is. Men don’t understand! But it’s hard for him, being a single dad trying to raise a young woman.
