The Seeds and Our Hearts In the parable of sowing of the seeds, there is a strange passage. The Sower sows the seeds everywhere. He sows some on the stone pavement. The birds come and takes it away…and some goes on good ground . . . etc. The disciples are confused. What does the parable mean? In order for them to understand, they come to the Lord and they asks for an explanation. The disciple had to think about the parable, and then go to the Lord and ask for an explanation. This is something we all can take away from the Gospel reading. We must seek the Lord and ask for understanding. This is why the Lord establishes His Church. So we have a source to go to; to seek an understanding from a source that is reliable and trust worthy. We likely have all heard this Gospel passage. However, hear an explanation of this parable, perhaps differently than in the past. Gain an understanding about the Word and the receiving hearts of the world. The seeds and our own hearts. Meditate on this piece for the week.
