Lobsang Dargey, a Tibetan Buddhist Monk, escapes Chinese oppression and claws his way to freedom in the U.S. Uneducated and broke, but rich with ambition, Dargey catapults from odd jobs to real estate development. He collects millions from investors for a Seattle skyscraper, but then violates his Buddhist principles —and the law— by misappropriating $17 million from a U.S. government “green card” program to fund his personal ventures and lavish spending. Now out on parole after three years in federal prison, Dargey has returned to real estate development. (Original airdate 12/20/22)
