Zachary Bernhardt was a sweet, smart eight-year-old boy living with his mother, Leah Hackett in Clearwater, Florida. Though they didn’t have the most stable life, Leah was known to be a loving mother, and the pair was close. But on September 11, 2000, Leah couldn’t sleep so she took a 4 am walk around her apartment complex.
