In 2014, a little girl named Relisha Rudd went missing while living in a Washington DC homeless shelter, but no one noticed. For 18 days, no one in Relisha’s life saw her, but no one reported her missing. It wasn’t until a social worker from her school visited the shelter in person that he realized the little girl whom he had been told was sick, wasn’t sick at all. She was just gone. Relisha’s story has had a deep and lasting impact on the DC region. July 11 is Relisha Rudd Remembrance Day. This week, we’re asking you to join us in honoring Relisha, who has been missing for 10 years. If you have any information on Relisha Rudd's disappearance, please contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST or the Washington Metropolitan Police Department at 1-202-265-9100 or their command info center at 1-202-727-9099.Buy the ebook! - And Then They Were Gone: True Stories of Those Who Went Missing and Never Came HomeSubmit a caseFind us everywhereGet episodes early and ad-free on PatreonMerch storeFor a full list of our sources, please visit our blogBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/and-then-they-were-gone--5360779/support.
