Gen. Milley called Chinese general in consultation with then-Defense Secretary Esper

The upcoming book “Peril” by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa details Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley’s phone conversations to reassure a nervous Chinese general and efforts Milley took to limit then-President Trump from potentially ordering a dangerous military strike.
