Paris 2024: Group A results | Canada advance despite point deduction | France top group (Soccer 08/01)

The Morning Footy crew recap the results of Group A in Women's Soccer at the Olympics which included France overcoming New Zealand 2-1 to top the group and Canada's defeat of Colombia to advance despite having been docked 6 points by FIFA after the uncovering of the drone spying scandal. Canada was able to win all three of their matches which put them second in group thanks to the tie-breaking win over Colombia. The defending Gold Medalists will now face Germany in the Quarterfinals. The group then focus in on Colombia and if this was a disappointing showing for the women's side.
