Headlines: San Diego FC hires Mikey Varas (Soccer 09/17)

The Morning Footy crew react to the news that MLS expansion side San Diego FC has hired former USMNT Assistant Manager and interim head coach Mikey Varas as their manager. He sat at the helm of the USMNT during their September friendlies this month against Canada and New Zealand. San Diego FC is set to debut during the 2025 MLS campaign. Is this a surprising move considering Varas doesn't have very much head coaching experience and the franchise had to spend $500 million to enter the league?
