(00:00-03:19) - Greg Rakestraw returns for another edition of Soccer Saturday and opens the show in typical fashion previewing the rest of the show and teases how you will hear some Indy Eleven news next week on the show regarding the roster for the upcoming season. (06:23-18:00) - Maura Gladys from American Tifo joins the show to discuss her latest piece profiling Peter Evans, what it means to her reporting on the still how new Major League Soccer is for fan culture because people are still discovering soccer and which team someone wants to follow, and what was unique about Peter's story that she discovered in the process of writing the story about Peter Evans. (21:01-38:16) - Following his conversation with Marua Gladys, Greg Rakestraw heads to the archives to replay an interview he conducted with Peter Evans from April 14, 2018. The conversation Rake had with Peter covers when he discovered his love for soccer, how he first caught wind of the possibility of a soccer club coming to Indianapolis, and how he felt walking into Union Jack Pub seeing his face up on the wall. (41:18-46:11) - In 2019 it was Josh Penn going from the Indy Eleven back to IU, now it's Patrick McDonald going from training with the Indy Eleven to IU, and Greg Rakestraw shares other news from an NCAA soccer perspective about Gary Yohe's wommen soccer team at Marian winning the Crossroads League Championship following their 2-0 victory over Grace to compete in the NAIA National Tournament in April/May. (49:12-57:11) - Greg wraps up today's show by sharing how big time superstar athletes are buying ownership in soccer clubs across the world and the number of celebrities that are apart of the Seattle Sounders Ownership group. Greg also briefly discusses the performance the Men's National Team had against Panama earlier this week.
