The Grizzly Man - Timothy Treadwell

For thirteen summers, Timothy Treadwell ventured into Alaska's Katmai National Park, living among grizzly bears for years in a quest to protect them, believing he had gained their trust as he filmed hundreds of hours of himself standing only feet away from several of the giant beasts. However, in October of 2003, his mission ended in tragedy when he and his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard, were killed and eaten alive by a bear, an incident that was captured in an audio recording found at their campsite. Their story became the subject of Werner Herzog's acclaimed 2005 documentary Grizzly Man, which examines Treadwell's passionate yet perilous relationship with the wild. Fearful is a podcast produced by Media Forge Studios, and releases a new episode here every Wednesday.
