Before Ghislaine Maxwell’s arrest in July 2020, federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York conducted a secret grand jury investigation that quietly accelerated in the months following Jeffrey Epstein’s death. The grand jury heard testimony from witnesses, reviewed financial records, communications, flight data, and other documentary evidence tied to Epstein’s sex trafficking operation and Maxwell’s alleged role in facilitating it.
