The streets were quiet at this time which was good since South St. Louis had a predator, known as the South Side Rapist, who had been lurking in the area. Ever cautious, Denise had installed a motion-activated floodlight near her driveway, ensuring she would be seen if anyone approached. But tonight, something felt different. Denise usually pulled straight into her garage, never exposing herself to the darkened street. But tonight, she parked her car on the street.
