Maliyha Hope Garcia: A child's death by starvation

Maliyha Hope Garcia was 5 years old, but weighed only 24 pounds when paramedics found her dead in her adoptive parents home just before Christmas 2016. Estevan and Sacora Garcia allegedly starved the child to death, according to a grand jury indictment in Bend, Oregon. Court documents say an alarm on Maliyha’s bedroom door alerted the couple if the child tried to sneak a meal overnight.
