Coming out, ready or not

Coming out, ready or not

What do the French version of Costco, our host Lea and anime characters have in common?

Listen to today’s episode to find out! While you’re at it, you might also be interested in the episode’s actual topic: being outed. Drawing from the Rebel Wilson experience, as well as from personal stories, pop culture references and caller testimonies, Casey and Lea go through the questionable assumptions and motivations that underlie outing someone, and the effect this can have on a person’s life. They then question the relationship between these elements and the fear of coming out and being out that so many queer people face.

The episode ends on a lighter note, as our hosts remind us that ‘queer people are nice’ (clearly an understatement), as can be seen through the films, series and projects that have been created to support and protect the LGBTQ+ community. And, as Lea shows us, queer people can be even nicer when they try to chat you up using a spicy pick-up line.
