If there is something that feels fishy in a trusting or vulnerable setting, you should trust your instinct. However, human beings are very susceptible to cognitive bias, a lot of the time we cannot trust this bias or the ego that protects and defends us. Our intuition and gut can be very misleading and can filter important information.
