Final Vinyl - is record collecting a scam

In a week where I pay way over the odds for a record I've wanted since 1989 to add to my personal ballast/collection, I ask is it really worth it? is there any romance really in clicking a button and getting it delivered to your door compared to going through the racks in a dank old cellar record shop back in the day. I finally get to me Manowar vinyl anecdote and wonder....is it really worth it? surely it's better to own nothing and be happy.....right?
